Rooted is an unfinished hobby project. Here is the short version of the technology involved and what happens to your information.
Generative AI
Your messages and relevant garden context are sent through OpenRouter to an AI model provider to generate responses. Rooted requests providers that do not train on or retain this content, but the providers still process it to answer you.
Storage and analytics
Supabase provides sign-in and stores your garden data and conversations. Vercel hosts the web app. PostHog may receive limited usage and AI-performance metadata; message and response content is excluded unless transcript capture is explicitly enabled.
Product learning
Rooted’s operator may review stored conversations, feedback, and AI responses to find bugs and improve the project. Your information is not sold or used for targeted advertising. Do not enter confidential or highly sensitive information.
AI can be wrong
Responses may be inaccurate or outdated. Independently verify advice about plant identification, edibility, toxicity, pesticides, pets, children, health, or other safety-critical decisions.
